Definition

The inferred type of each dataset column (e.g. float64 for decimal numbers, int64 for whole numbers, object for text). Types decide which analyses a column can serve: numeric for features and targets, categorical for grouping.

Examples

PLOT (object) is a grouping column; BIOMASS (float64) is numeric.
